2025 Houston-Area GIS Day Professional Workshops

The Houston-Area GIS Day Planning Committee is excited to offer a full day of professional workshops, leading up to the 2025 Houston-Area GIS Day, at discounted rates for the geospatial community.

Join us on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025, at the University of Houston–Clear Lake for hands-on workshops designed to enhance your skills and expand your geospatial knowledge. Whether you aspire to be a Geo Guru, Spatial Sorcerer, GIS Jedi, or Map Master, these sessions offer something for everyone.

Workshops will be provided by Esri and BadElf.

Beginner's Guide To Field Mapping: Asset Management Seminar

Offered By: Bad Elf

This seminar introduces fundamental geospatial concepts, field methodologies, and the latest geotechnologies. Participants will explore how to prepare, collect, and share high-accuracy location data using ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Field Maps, and GNSS hardware.

  • Understand GNSS fundamentals, horizontal and vertical datums, and map projections
  • Prepare and publish feature layers in ArcGIS Online
  • Collect and visualize data using web maps
  • Review best practices, safety protocols, and field data tips
  • Participate in hands-on data collection using ArcGIS Field Maps and GNSS receiver
